Position: Food Service Worker/Dishwasher/Utility Responsible to: Chef Manager/Maintenance Director
Qualifications:
1. Minimum age of 18 years old
2. Able to walk one mile in under 14 minutes without assistance
3. Able to lift a case of 6 full #10 cans in a cardboard case to a height of 48”
Responsibilities:
1. Set up and operate dishwashing machine, wash all dishes, cups, glasses, pitchers, serving pieces, etc.
2. Set up silverware container with water on table in the dining room
3. Put out buckets of bleach water for the washing of the tables. After meals empty buckets and soak cleaning cloths in bleach water
4. Assist counter person to fill water and juice pitchers
5. Take out trash “garbage” bins after each meal
6. Responsible for cleaning inside of dishwashing machine after each meal.
7. Clean counter after each meal
8. Assist with the serving of food
9. Put away clean dishes, silverware, etc. in proper place
10. Cover dish cart after each meal. Put silverware in proper containers
11. Assist with keeping the kitchen neat and clean
12. Additional duties as directed by Chef Manager
13. Clean “Lighthouse” (toilet/shower facility) as assigned (several times daily)
a. Scrub toilets: seats and bowls
b. Fill Toilets paper dispensers
c. Sweep floor, wash as necessary
d. Clean sinks and window sills
e. Clear out drains daily
f. Wash shower stalls every other day
g. Empty trash and sanitary napkin waste
14. Daily cleaning of Bathrooms in Ceramics Building
15. Daily cleaning, including wet mopping of the recreation Hall floor
16. Daily cleaning of bathroom in the alleyway behind Dining Hall
17. Regular washing of Dining Hall floor as directed by Chef Manager
18. Assist with the washing of kitchen floor as directed by Chef Manager
19. Daily cleaning of the West Shower/Toilet Bldg. If in use
20. Other duties as directed by Chef Manager or Camp Director
Hat or hairnet must be worn at all times while on duty. Apron must be worn at all times while working in the kitchen. Proper footwear must be worn at all times.
Other duties may be assigned as necessary to provide adequate food services
One day off per week. Average work day is ten hours but hours are not consecutive. “Check-In work days are longer.
Note: One of the daily Lighthouse cleanings occurs after all campers and staff are in bed - after 11:45pm. Staff working this shift do not work the breakfast shift.
