Position: Quartermaster Responsible to: Associate Camp Director or designated associate

Qualifications:
  1. Minimum age of 21.
  2. An understanding and acceptance of the fundamental aims and purposes of the YMCA in general and of YMCA Camp  Mohawk.
  3. Genuine concern for the positive development of children.
  4. Clean driving record. Must be able to drive manual shift transmission and demonstrate competence in operating an 8  passenger van safely.
  5. American Red Cross First Aid and CPR for Professional Rescuer.
  6. High level of personal organizational skills.
  7. Demonstrated ability to work individually or with a team.

Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Initiate a system for the management of all consumable program, store and maintenance inventories. Implement such system  to the end result of all program, store and maintenance personnel having supplies adequate for the delivery of their program  and/or service.
  2. Manage the camp store including personnel training and supervision, record keeping, facility maintenance and inventory.
  3. Responsible for driving day campers, staff and campers as needed, i.e. staff to town on days off, campers to doctor, daily day  camp pick-ups and drop-offs, etc. Also responsible for daily inspection of vehicle and appropriate maintenance.
  4. Responsible for senior trip requirements (sign-out sheets, directions, cash distribution, lunch arrangements, ticket purchase,  etc.)
  5. Responsible for soda machine stocking and maintenance.
  6. Act as liaison between cabin staff and kitchen staff for all food requests.
  7. Responsible for management of recyclables and trips to recycling center.
  8. Supervise banquet set-up in the dining hall, rec hall set-up for opening and closing days.
  9. Responsible for camper cabin assignments.
  10. Participate as a member of the Mohawk staff team in camp programs and other assigned responsibilities, i.e. Officer of the  Day, Unit Coverage, Special Events, Indian Ceremony, dance chaperone, Talent Show, etc.
  11. Coordinate all transportation requirements. Establish and maintain relationship with bus company. Confirm schedules.  Communicate schedules to appropriate staff. Conduct bus monitor training for appropriate staff. Maintain records for billing   purposes. Ensure that directions to all destinations are present prior to trips.
  12. Assist with Office coverage as necessary.
  13. Responsible for laundering as necessary bedding from cases of enuresis.
  14. Other duties as assigned by the Director, Associate Director or Office Manager.
