SENIOR TRIP PROGRAMS

LOVE THE CAMP EXPERIENCE BUT WANT MORE ADVENTURE?

Mohawk’s Senior Trips program might be perfect for you! For new and returning campers ages 14 to 15, join the Senior Day Trips or Cape Cod Trip Senior Camp. The perfect combination of our traditional camp program and off-camp adventure.

DAY TRIPS

SENIOR PROGRAM

Participants in the Day Trips Senior Program enjoy the first week of each two-week session enjoying the traditional camp activities of their choosing, as well as a variety of evening activities such as movies and ice cream. The second week of each session is spent on day trips and excursions away from camp.

Seniors live in cabins with up to seven campers and one counselor. Seniors will enjoy an opportunity to develop cooperative skills, form new friendships, learn new skills, and relax with friends in a peaceful atmosphere.

TYPICAL DAY TRIP LOCATIONS

Rock climbing on St. John’s Ledge in Kent, CT

Biking around Lake Waramaug, CT

Catamount Adventure Park in Hillsdale, NY

Boating at Sandy Beach in Morris, CT

The Day Trip Senior Program is open to 14 seniors for each session, available only during Session 2 and Session 3. We suggest a store deposit of $125. This will take care of money for a night out to movies and additional expenses on trips. All expenses for meals and admission are covered; store deposit money can be used to purchase anything extra.

Seniors who wish to participate in horseback riding lessons may do so for one week only as seniors are away for the second week. Additional fee is required for riding lessons.

SENIOR PROGRAM

CAPE COD

This program features one week in camp pursuing traditional camp activities and five days during the second week on Cape Cod.

During your week in Cape Cod, girls will have the chance to try the best that the Cape has to offer! Take surf lessons along the coast of the Atlantic and enjoy some relaxing beach time. Hop aboard a ferry to Martha's Vineyard and spend the day exploring the island. Ride a bike along the Rail Trail and try to win a game of mini gol. Participants will be staying at the beautiful Eastham Youth Hostel.

This amazing opportunity has limited space of 14 girls per trip, available only during Session 2 and Session 3.

TYPICAL SCHEDULE

MONDAY

Depart from camp and arrive at the hostel at the Cape. Counselors lead the group to buy groceries for the week, then return to the hostel for dinner. Enjoy some sightseeing tonight at a local park to see the sunset!

TUESDAY

Go for a bike ride on the Rail Trail and end with a game of mini golf.

WEDNESDAY

Take lessons from the pros: learn how to surf! Afterwards enjoy some fun in the sun with undisturbed beach time.

THURSDAY

Take a ferry to Martha’s Vineyard, have lunch, and enjoy exploring the island!

FRIDAY

Leave around 10:30am. Arrive back at camp approximately 3:30pm.

We suggest a store deposit of $150 for Cape Cod Seniors. This will take care of money for a night out to the movies and additional expenses at the Cape. All expenses for food and admission are covered; store deposit money can be used to purchase anything extra. Seniors can withdraw money from their store account before departing camp.

Cape Cod participants should pack a small duffel bag when they pack for camp. Before departing for the Cape, you will pack what you need in the duffel for the trip. Towels, sheets, pillows and blankets are provided by the hostel, so those will stay at camp when you depart.

Seniors who wish to participate in horseback riding lessons may do so for one week only as seniors are away for the second week. Additional fee is required for riding lessons.
