Spring 2026

There’s a lot happening at Mohawk right now, and even more on the horizon. This off-season has been full of planning, construction, and preparation for a busy summer ahead, while also laying the groundwork for the future of camp. With a full season, waitlists across sessions, and long-term plans taking shape, it’s an exciting time to be part of the Mohawk community.

We’ve had a great off-season overall. Along with the work happening on site, we’ve been focused on hiring and preparing for the summer. We’ve been connecting with our staff through monthly Zoom meetings, and it’s been great getting to know them. It’s a really strong group, and they’re ready to jump in and make this summer a great one for our campers.

At the same time, a lot of our attention has been on looking ahead. We’ve been thinking about how Mohawk can continue to grow in a way that stays true to what makes camp special, while also making sure we’re set up well for the future. A big part of that has been around facilities and long-term planning. We recently completed a feasibility study for a new Dining Hall, which gave us a better sense of what’s realistic right now. The full project is estimated at around $7 million, and the study showed we can likely raise about $2 million at this point. So for now, we’re taking a phased approach. We’re continuing to plan for the Dining Hall while also focusing on other improvements around camp that we can move forward with sooner.

Our next step is to refresh the Master Site Plan, which will lay out the next seven years of projects and help guide how camp develops over time. That plan will help us make sure we’re making thoughtful decisions about where we invest, both for today’s campers and for the long-term future of Mohawk. There are already a number of projects we’re excited about as part of that plan. These include improvements to the Lighthouse, upgrades to Oscadees, relocating the Ropes Course, extending the Senior cabins, and building an amphitheater space. Each of these will help support programming and create even more opportunities for campers to connect, try new things, and feel at home here.

We also have some fun things lined up for this summer. The Troubadours will be back, and we’ll have two Mohawk alumni who are now published authors coming to speak with campers. It’s always great when we can bring alumni back to share their experiences and connect with the next generation.

It’s an exciting time at camp, and there’s a lot to look forward to, both this summer and in the years ahead. If you’re interested in learning more about the Master Site Plan or getting involved in supporting a future project, I’d love to connect.
