From designing signage to guide and brighten Camp, to creating leisure spaces like The Hollow for all campers to enjoy, the CIT Legacy Project has been an integral part of Mohawk’s leadership program for years.

For the CITs of 2025, this summer’s project has been no different. Their legacy project was the creation of a hammock village in The Hollow. CITs from Sessions 1 and 2 came up with the idea, designed the concept, and led the fundraising effort using platforms like GoFundMe and Facebook to bring in support. The CITs from Sessions 3 and 4 then took over to bring the vision to life—working alongside the maintenance crew to dig the holes for the telephone poles and ensuring the right hammocks were ordered. The result is a beautiful, shaded spot in The Hollow with ten hammocks, perfect for an entire cabin to use for group activities or for campers to enjoy during Optional Rec and free time. The next time you are at Camp, check it out!

Rumor has it, Patrick is still lying there…

The hammock village in The Hollow is my new favorite spot on camp. Thank you CITS!
