Hello Fellow Mohawkers,
As the last remnants of winter melt away, and signs of spring emerge, we are thrilled to share some exciting updates with you. Moore Lodge is alive with the sounds of newly hatched ravens, and our beautiful pond reflects the changing season. We are eagerly preparing for another unforgettable summer at camp.
Preparations are well underway, with every session fully registered and our staff roster finalized. Mikayla has assembled a diverse and talented team from around the globe, including Tasmania, the UK, Mexico, Colombia, Ireland, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia. Their enthusiasm and dedication promise a summer filled with cultural exchange and memorable experiences.
We are also focused on enhancing the camp experience for our campers. Projects are in full swing to improve each camper unit, ensuring they each have a water bottle filling station, a wood shed for fires, and covered areas for Fun Factors in every unit. Exciting developments include a new pavilion in Utes, covered porches in Jawaks, and wood sheds at the Utes unit, Seniors unit, and the Waterfront. The Rec Hall has undergone a facelift and now features a beautifully sided interior. We are also optimistic about the completion of the Jawak Shower House and the installation of a generator for the entire camp.
Our Board of Directors and Committees have been hard at work strategizing and setting priorities for camp. Each committee has been meeting regularly, making positive changes, and ensuring that our goals are aligned with the mission of YMCA Camp Mohawk. We invite anyone interested in contributing to reach out and join our efforts.
As we eagerly anticipate the arrival of our campers, we are filled with excitement for the summer ahead. We look forward to the completion of our projects and the opportunity to create lasting memories with our camp community.
