Alumni Question of the Quarter: Spring 2026

Is there a smell that immediately makes you think of Camp? Send an e-mail at alumni@campmohawk.org or leave a comment on the Question of the Quarter thread in the Camp Mohawk Alumni Association Facebook group.

Last quarter, we asked Alumni to tell us what quirky item they always packed for their summers at Camp.  Below are some of the responses we received on the Camp Mohawk Alumni (Litchfield, CT) Facebook page—come join the discussion!

Christy Schilling: [John Denver’s Greatest Hits] was my favorite album at the time [Ed. Note: The album cover featured John Denver wearing a down vest].  I begged my mom for a down vest to take to Camp.  I got it in red. Perfect for chilly mornings and always nights around the fire.  Just a perfect summer layer.  I have a green one now!  I slept in that vest when I wasn’t at Camp to always be at home.

Sarah Creaney: Aisling Creaney had the idea to bring a bath mat so she could wipe her feet before climbing into her bunk.  No more sandy sheets.  I thought that was brilliant.

Megan Fox: Not so much a single thing, but my packing list always had a section of oddities solely included for potential use in the Dutch Auction (glasses with side mirrors, a Rubik’s cube, maybe a stray list of the Seven Dwarves).

Trevor Loucks Rosenthal: As a staff member, I always brought my Values Clarification book, used it for many devotions!

Morgan Beverly Carpenter: I had two.  My disposable camera in which nothing was in focus. Ever.  And my baby pillow, which I still sleep with to this day.
