Fall 2025

The air is crisp, the leaves are turning, and camp has settled into its peaceful fall rhythm. After such a vibrant summer, the quiet feels especially striking - but it’s the perfect moment to reflect on all that made this past season one of our best.

We had a phenomenal summer with a full camp and an incredible staff. Highlights included the always-popular Murder Mystery nights, the return of the Troubadours, Sunday morning lake swims, and the creation of our brand-new Hammock Village. Remarkably, every session’s chapel and closing ceremony were held outdoors - not once did weather force us inside. It was the perfect way to celebrate each session under the pines, surrounded by laughter, friendship, and that unmistakable Mohawk magic.

Of course, camp life brings its challenges (bears, bedbugs, and heat waves among them!), but those moments paled in comparison to the joy of watching campers thrive, laugh, and truly be themselves for nine unforgettable weeks.

Following the campers’ departure, we hosted four back-to-back weekends: Alumni Weekend, two Mother-Daughter Weekends, and Women’s Wellness Weekend. Each was well-attended and ran smoothly, thanks to our hardworking team and the enthusiasm of everyone who came back to Mohawk.

The newly expanded and renovated Ute cabins have been a huge success — they look like they’ve always belonged here. The updated design doubled the space, added insulation, and brought indoor temperatures down an impressive 14 degrees compared to neighboring units. Building on that success, we’re now planning to extend these upgrades across camp, starting with Mohicans.

Looking ahead, we’re setting our sights on one of our most ambitious dreams yet: a new Dining Hall. This project would be far beyond what we could accomplish through our operating budget alone, so with Jo’s help and guidance from Donor By Design, we’ve been conducting a feasibility study to explore the potential for a capital campaign. It’s been both educational and inspiring to connect with so many generous alumni and supporters throughout this process. I’m eager to continue those conversations and see what’s possible for Mohawk’s future.

Enrollment for Summer 2026 is already 85% full, with Sessions 2, 3, and 4 nearing capacity at 95%. It’s incredibly exciting to see so much enthusiasm from returning and new families this early in the year.

As we move into the off-season, Mikayla and I are focused on facility improvements, planning, and professional development. We’ve already visited five other camps this fall, with more to come, learning from peers and gathering ideas to make Mohawk even better.

Wishing you a wonderful fall, and as always, I hope you find time to get outside and enjoy the season.
