Camp Mohawk has two legacy funds that honor alumni who devoted themselves to Camp and its campers. We are pleased to announce the 2026 recipients of those funds:

Cindy Morse Leadership Development Fund

The Cindy Morse Leadership Development Fund helps provide support for our CIT Program by covering the salary of the CIT Director, as well as ongoing training for staff. This year, there were two recipients: Ayanna McDaniel and Demi Demakes. This was Ayanna's fourth summer as CIT Director. In the off season, Ayanna is a middle school art teacher. She currently lives in Unionville with her boyfriend, Dan. Ayanna worked with our CITs from Sessions 1 & 2 this year. Demi Demakes returned to Mohawk after a brief hiatus from Camp. Demi just graduated from college with a degree in film production. This was her first year taking on the role of leading Mohawk’s CITs, but she did an amazing job. After camp, Demi plans to move to LA to start her career.

Arlene Foulds Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Arlene Foulds Memorial Scholarship Fund helps provide a scholarship to an outstanding staff member with financial need. The 2026 recipient was Vanessa Sparagna. Vanessa has been the Day Camp Director for the past three years and worked as an Overnight Counselor prior to that. She is currently working on her Master's at Loyola University in Maryland.
